Sinus Precautions

The following information is provided if your surgery has involved the maxillary sinus. If there are any questions, please contact our office.

Sinus Precautions

Remember not to:

1. Blow your nose.
2. Drink through a straw.
3. Rinse your mouth forcefully.
4. Follow these instructions for at least a week.

Remember to:

1. Sneeze with your mouth open.
2. Treat your extraction or surgical site gently.
3. Follow these instructions for at least a week.

Remember to take your medications:

1. Afrin nasal spray (over the counter) - two puffs each nostril twice a day.
2. Antibiotic medication as directed.
3. Nasal decongestants as directed.
4. Please remember that all forms of oral and administered contraception are to be considered unreliable while you are taking any form of antibiotic medication.
