Meet Dr. Storoe

William C. Storoe IV D.D.S.

Born and raised on a small farm west of Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Storoe attended Wheaton-Warrenville High School and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana to receive a Bachelor of Science in Professional Chemistry. He also attended the University of Illinois – College of Dentistry, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Dentistry in 1988 and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1990. During Dental school, Dr. Storoe joined the United States Navy as a Reserve Officer in the Dental Corps in 1988.

After graduation from Dental School in 1990, Dr. Storoe served as a Lieutenant in the Navy Dental Corps for six years. He served as both a Navy Officer and a general dentist acquiring a vast experience in both general dentistry and surgical procedures. He was first stationed in Bethesda, Maryland, where he received a General Practice Residency Certificate from the National Naval Medical Center in 1991. He spent the next two years with the Marines at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twenty-nine Palms, California, and finally, three years at Mayport Naval Station, Mayport, Florida.

After completing active duty, Dr. Storoe attended MetroHealth Medical Center, which is a level-one trauma center in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his full-scope residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and served as Chief Resident in his final year. He graduated in 2000 with certificates in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Chief Resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Anesthesiology.

Dr. Storoe has also received extensive training in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advance Trauma Life Support. 

Dr. Storoe has attained Board Certification and Diplomat Status in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of AnesthesiologyFellowship Status in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeonsAmerican College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Academy of General Dentistry, and successfully completed the Northeast Regional Board Specialty Examination for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Storoe is currently licensed in Florida, California and Illinois and holds memberships in The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, The Academy of General Dentistry, The American Dental Association, The Florida Dental Society, The Alachua County Dental Society and The Suwannee Valley Dental Society.

Dr. Storoe currently serves as a board member or Trustee in The Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also serves as the Chairman for Legislative Affairs and FLOMSPAC for The Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has served both on the boards and held several offices in both The Alachua County Dental Society and The Suwannee Valley Dental Society. He currently serves as the President of both The Alachua County Dental Society and The Suwannee Valley Dental Society.

Dr. Storoe currently holds a courtesy faculty appointment at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in which he actively teaches new dental students the interesting aspects of clinical Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Storoe is active in the local community with several charity projects and donations. He also donates time and his professional services regularly through We-Care and The Acorn Clinic, and annually through Give Kids a Smile.

Dr. Storoe’s Professional honors include fellowship status in The American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Academy of General Dentistry, Pierre Fauchard Academy – International Honor Dental Organization and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Storoe holds Diplomat Status in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology. Dr. Storoe has received several peer awards, including the Young Eagle Award and Committeeman of the Year Award from the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Storoe and his family moved to the Gainesville area in 2002 and have enjoyed the north central Florida lifestyle. Dr. Storoe enjoys many outdoor activities and is an accomplished artist. Dr. Storoe enjoys spending time with his wife and young children, who keep him busy when he is not taking care of his patients.

Dr. Storoe’s vast background, both civilian and military, have afforded him a great wealth of experience to deal with the many different situations and personalities that present to his office, to allow him to care for his patients in a family oriented, caring environment, catering to his patient’s needs and desires.
